Submission
All submissions are due prior to 30st September. Late sumbissions will not be accepted.
All submissions are to be sent directly to essay_submission@humanrightsdefence.org

The Review Process
Every essay passing the initial review, will anonymously be sent on to three judges.Each reviewer  will treat the essays confidential and judge it on a 1-10 scale on each of the following six criteria:

1. Thematic focus
2. Skill in argumentation
3. Clarity of ideas
4. Originality
5. Precision and style in writing.
6. Grace of expression

In addition, the reviewer are asked to write a short paragraph about their opinion of the essay.

Once marked, your aggregate score will be calculated, and sent back to you together with any comments the judges may have had. The three essays that scored highest, will be awarded the prizes. The top 10 essays will be published. Should your essay be published, you will be given 2 weeks to submit corrections based on the supplied reviews.
