Hi,

I have recent written an article about the origin of Universal
Declaration of Human Rights for this site; when writing I discovered that there are several groups and communities that would ague against or the need to update the declaration to better reflect different view. Among them some US republicans.

So, I am currently planning to write an article about arguments
against the declaration and about suggestions of changes to; if you have any arguments against it I am very keen to know about them and possibly bring them into the article.

Thanks in advance,

If you need arguments against, then I guess you could bring up how the UDHR can be misused by some as a free-political ticket, and/or for political activism...It's debatable though...only thing I can think of right now

I'll elaborate a bit on my previous though...for example some nations require individuals applying for citizen ship to undergo an exam (eg Germany, Netherlands). Not a bad thing in my opinion. However many argue against it using the HRD. See what I'm getting at? Discrimination does not always need to be negative - there is a valid reason why Germany introduced such an exam. Additionally, those people arguing on these grounds could also attack price discrimination (student fares, reduced tickets for children etc)......

There is what is called a positive discrimination, like in women, children,HIV people. But for me discrimination is discrimination and the positive discrimination can not be a term for excuse it.

I don't quite agree with Luisa...positive discrimination only results in a positive product for all parties involved. So why diss it? I would rather be discriminated against as being a student and hence pay 1/2 price for a ticket I could otherwise not afford

I guess positive discrimination is mainly economical...On the other hand, I do agree with you about it not being an excuse
